TEACHING METHODOLOGY NO: 2 DEMONSTRATION METHOD

AIM:

  •   To determine the understanding of the subject through demonstration method.
  •   To determine students’ level of interest towards subject while implementing demonstration method.

CONTENT OUTLINE:

The wax near the wick of the candle burans and gives new substance like CO2, carbon soot, water vapors, heat etc., this is a chemical change.

PROCEDURE:

  •   The teacher explains the characteristics of physical and chemical change.
  •   After explanation the teacher lights the candle and allows the candle to burn for some time. Meanwhile he explains the ingredients involved in the process of candle making.
  •    Now, the teacher asks student to observe the happening. Encourages the responses and develops the concept.
  •   The teacher lists the changes of lighting the candle and categorizes it based on the characteristics of physical and chemical change.
