CO-OPERATIVE LEARNING STYLE : PEER TUTORING

Image
Peer-tutoring otherwise called Peer-learning is a teaching strategy in which learners work in pairs or groups to provide each other support that in-turn enhance learning. It is a flexible method. Retention capacity of the student is good when this method is practised. Social interaction is developed through this method. In Loyola College of Education, we had modified version of Peer-tutoring. Here we were given chance to observe the peers teaching , therefore the observer can learn the teaching methodology used by the peer and it paved the way for exchange of ideas and planning a way for better teaching as well as constructive feedback is given so that it helps them to improve further. Following are the photographs taken when I observed my peer teaching,

Leadership is an art. Some are born leaders, some achieve leadership and some have leadership thrust upon them. To instill leadership characteristics in pupils and to gain firsthand knowledge of how elections are handled LCE organized election to elect student council members.  I took part in the electoral process and was elected as Chairman. The investiture event was filled with anticipation. The ceremony was presided over by the Secretary, Fr. Sagayaraj SJ, the Principal, Mrs. Kulandai Theresal, and the student council coordinators, Mrs. Beula Jayarani and Mr. Nanda. The event began with the lighting of candles. The elected leaders were presented with badges and sashes by Secretary Father and Principal ma'am. I, the Chairman, took an oath, and the rest of the student council followed suit. The event ended with the national anthem.  Following are the photographs taken on the day of ceremony,

The activity is organized every year to raise awareness about energy conservation strategies implemented on our college campus. Various methods of conservation were used, such as solar panels, recycling of solid and liquid waste from which cooking gas is generated, and recycled water is used to flush toilets, etc. It provided me a lot of insights about energy conservation.
